I'm trying to figure out he same thing... Every time I see those SC 430 dNanos I ask how they are done and no one amswers...

There is a guy on the minizracer forums that is 3d printing bodies for dNanos and mini-z... Nice stuff

I'm trying to get him to do a 430.., as well as a Ferrari 458 Italia

I think these bodies can work easily, i vaguely remember reading that they fit well the murcielago parts but i might be wrong.
This maker has a few bodies that look nice and have nice paintjobs and details but this is not the style I like so I never tried to convert, I don't think it should be a problem tho as these are big bodies with plenty of space.
And they are very cheap.

I actually write to ask about this guy who makes 3D printing for dnano.
Can you send me some links of formus where he posts as I want to get in touch with him.
I wanted to print some bodies myself as I work in 3D so I can make a sportcar body without any problems, but I dont want to spend time measuring things up, as I don't have much spare time.
In fact I am after CAD data of a Dnano, official from Kyosho or from Xpower or whoever had the patience to take precise measurements.
Anyone who has decent CAD data for Dnano who is willing to share please get in touch.
I was supposed to ask Q'on to see if he has any CAD data to share but I forgot, so here I am, anyone with dnano CAD??
3D printing could be fun as nowadays we can print in strong and flexible materials. we could print a car to use straight away, wheels of new design (I wish I had the cad for the wheel) or print a shape to use with vacuum forming to make lexan bodies.

Ah, and about printing a 430, why don't you try to convert the 430 Enterbay model, I've done it and it works, not the strongest body ever but looks really pretty, possibly even better than an original kyosho, a little delicate but usable (see the custom dnano body thread)

one of the guys here has already received his kit and says it's rather easy to mount...it also included a note from Bandai giving tips on fitting it to dNano so apparently, they're aware it's being used for customs bodies. i'll send him to this thread and hopefully he'll keep us updated on his project. if it goes well, we'll probably order a couple here and see how well it performs as a racing shell.

Hi everybody!
Here i am tryin' to get to you an update on my project...

First of all i've to say that's incredible how this kit is very good in plastics. All parts are of good quality and body is very detailed, even if not exactly to kyosho level!
This kit comes in three different liveries and i had buy all... For this "tutorial" i'll use the ZENT version, which is the livery i like less...
Image
Image

Looking at the parts inside package seems not so much work is needed to adapt the model to a dnano... but...
Image
Unfortunately the body doesn't come as unique piece. Instead it is composed of many pieces... This can be translated in a huge weight amount on the front!!!! Too bad!!!
Image
At this point we have two choices...
The first easy way is to follow instructions and mount all pieces... very simple to do and after that we can see how car goes..
The second and more difficult way is trying to eliminate not necessary plastic pieces in order to low down overall weight.
Obviously i choose for the second way!

In the next post we'll see what choosing the second way means!!!

Here i am with second part of the tutorial....
As seen in previous post the front of our Lexus body is composed of FOUR pieces...
I'll try to cut off all unnecessary pieces...
First of all i had eliminate some plastic from lower black plastic grid...
In the picture below is shown original grid
Image
And this is the result after cutting...
Image
You can see i left a thin border, in order to mantain a guideline for the chromed grid that will be glued on later!

Then i had eliminate some plastic from light group... my purpouse is to get only lights that will be glued on the bumper... the result here below
Image

In the following picture we can see the result
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hp ... 7150_n.jpg

In the next part we'll try to keep all pieces togheter!!!!! Hope it'll work!!!!!
see ya

sorry but this kit is NOT for dNano...
this is a plastic kit i'm trying to adapt to make it running with my dNano... in other words, this is a customization!
I finished assembling the body, i'm now on mouting pieces... it's quite easy to do, since i found a way can be used for i think every not original body we want to adapt!!!! ;)
pictrures will come soon!

I know it's not 'made' for the dnano, but it was quoted above that "it also included a note from Bandai giving tips on fitting it to dNano".... So that's what I was looking to see...

What chassis settings are you going to use?

It seems to have died out around here..

Well I went ahead and ordered a ZENT sc430 for one of my dnanos so I guess I'll experiment and see how to get it to fit my chassis...

Anyone know where I can get the Heller Sauber C9? I can't find one anywhere... My guess is that the kit is really old

you can find the c9 from a brand called Heller on ebay very easily.
The kit is a bit rubbish I warn you. I have 2, one is made of grey plastic, the other is white plastic. The grey plastic seems to be slightly better,
although both my kits the main chassis is a bit wonky.. dont expect great precision and details like a kyosho body.
When you see the Heller models for the first time on ebay.. you might get tempted to buy a few. I did, most have size issues and cant be adapted without cutting bits off, unfortunatelyl. The C9 is, instead, possibly the best one from heller, fits perfectly (the murcielago configuration, if I remember correctly)

I don't have my calipers here at the office, but the wheelbase is about 60.325mm and the track is about 47.625 (Based off using a Tape measure and converting to metric) and there was no insert explaining what you have to do to convert to Dnano..... looks like it will be a fun project though

Can't find my calipers right now so I decided to build it temporarily to make sure I get the wheelbase correct when I find them

I'll Keep you all posted

Ater some research... it seems that the wheelbase matches the wheelbase of the 360 Modena at 60.5mm, and people have been using the 8U/8L front end to get the front track right... and for the rear, people have used the Modena rear settings, but if they are the same as the 787B (which is what I have and according to the chart it IS the same) then that is a little narrow for me... i think instead of 5R/L I think 6 or 7 would be better... once again, I can't find my calipers (I moved back in April, and I still haven't gone through ALL of my boxes) But hopefully if anyone is still monitoring this thread, I hope I may have helped to start to get this figured out.. after that, making rear body mounts should be easy.. the front, maybe not so much

Well the settings I posted turned out to be perfect.... 8U/L up front with matching steering rod, 403 rear body mount for the right wheelbase, and 7R/L rear hubs... I just have to figure out how to mount the body... People have said to use screws from the outside to go into the rear body mounts... But I'm stumped on the front... Other than making a slot to slide the front body mount into.... I also have 19-inch wheels on it and they for perfect too...

Still trying to figure out how to ACTUALLY mount the body...

using the front clip removed from the body and with the front splitter mounted, I was able to establish a front ride height... and with the front body clip from the 787B on the chassis (the donor was a 787B before I added the other parts) I think I can slot the back of the grill area for the body clip to fit into... as far as the sides, I'm scared to put screw holes through the body and have the placement be wrong... any suggestions?

Here I clipped some material off the front mount in order to use the front mount as "pins" instead of a bar..
Image

The "pins" actually line up perfectly with the mounting knobs on the front end so it's easy to measure up..
Image

Image

Here I made matching holes in the inside front of the body... they were a little off so I chose to use only one hole and rely on the rear body mounts too keep the body level
Image

The corner at the bottom of the "T" in ZENT is where the body mounts/screws can go and will give the body a good height
Image

2.5mm screws fit nicely in the body mount holes and I think I will use them

I may have to remove the front splitter because it's a little low... but it just looks so darn cool to me
